Zimbabwe, a landlocked country in southern Africa, has its capital, Harare, situated on a plateau between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers. Over the past two decades, Harare has experienced steady growth, contributing to development but not always in a sustainable manner. Despite being the economic, educational, and cultural hub of the nation, Harare has recently earned a poor reputation as one of Africa’s least livable cities. This decline is attributed to unregulated construction, inadequate infrastructure, limited healthcare, and unsustainable land practices.
