In her latest research, Habiba Allam tackles an important urban planning challenge: assessing the flood risks associated with the potential inward expansion of Dahab city. The study is driven by a provocative hypothesis: What if Dahab city was to expand inwards? The goal of this research is to create a detailed flood risk map that will identify which areas are least susceptible to flooding, thereby guiding future urban development. This initiative aims to ensure that any expansion of the city is conducted in a manner that minimizes environmental risks and maximizes safety for its residents.
