The Chuy Region, located in northern Kyrgyzstan, borders Kazakhstan to the north and west while connecting with Talas, Jalal-Abad, and Issyk-Kul regions. It encompasses diverse landscapes such as the Chon-Kemin and Kichi-Kemin valleys, Suusamyr Valley, and the slopes of Kyrgyz Ata-Too and Kungey Ala-Too ranges. With elevations varying from 550 to 4,895 meters, the region covers an area of around 19,895 km². According to a 2021 WFP report, residents face significant challenges with irrigation water shortages, leading to lower agricultural yields. Additionally, abnormal dryness has affected the northern areas of Chuy and Talas provinces.
